The Court has reviewed the Motion for Alternative Means of Service as to Defendant
Liska (filed July 30, 2013). The motion is DENIED without prejudice. By way of brief
explanation, the Court notes that it has been unable to find anything in the affidavit submitted
with the motion to indicate that defendant Liska actually lives at the proposed address. In
contrast, the earlier motion for alternative service (regarding defendant Barrera) relied on an
affidavit which explicitly indicated that the address was correct (as evidenced by its reference to
the door sign, the assessor records, and a neighbor's statement).
ALERT: The Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order 2011-140 directs the Clerk's
Office not to accept paper filings from attorneys in civil cases. Civil cases must still be initiated
on paper; however, subsequent documents must be eFiled through AZTurboCourt unless an
exception defined in the Administrative Order applies.
